Can anyone confirm if the space shuttle model used in the STS-51-L crew photos (the "stack" and the one on its own in the Christa McAuliffe, Michael Smith and Greg Jarvis portraits) is 1/100 scale?

Also, were the scale models used in NASA crew photos the same as the commercial versions sold to the public?

The models appear to be 1/100 scale.

Your second question is a little more difficult to answer but generally the models available for the public are not the same as those in NASA photos. For example the NASA commissioned models have SSME bells that are made out of metal rather than wood.
