Adam isn't the only replica prop builder obsessed with spacesuits. At the recent Replica Prop Forum showcase, we met Ryan Nagata, a propmaker and director who collaborated with Adam on his Mercury suit, and made his own Apollo-era spacesuit as well. Every part of Ryan's suits is an original fabrication, and the suits are wearable!

I finished a new communications carrier. I made castings of real Apollo-era snoopy cap ear kidneys in flexible urethane foam, so they're spot-on. I also used the 100% correct vintage PTFE fabric for the brown parts. This fabric is no-longer made like this, so this is the most accurate snoopy cap I could ever make.

I finished a replica of the A7L-B as well as the EVA gloves. Weathered with simulated moon dust. I'll be working on the remaining EVA components of the suit over the next month (LEVA, PLSS, etc). Stay tuned!

I also finished these replicas of the Lunar Mission Hasselblad:

And space suit enthusiast Adam Savage stopped by to visit my new studio!

Beautiful work, very impressive. I would love one of those camera replicas. I'm sure quite a few members here would love one to.

Have you the means to perhaps offer these for sale?

Wow. That has to be one of the finest Apollo replicas I have ever seen. Quite stunning. Congratulations.

You realize you will need to replace a few thousand keyboards which are now damaged from drool, coffee, soda, and bread crumbs from jaws dropping.

Prop maker Ryan Nagata is obsessed with NASA spacesuits, and has made the best replicas Adam has seen. While at his workshop, Adam and Ryan geek out over the process of fabricating fake spacesuits, including fabric selection, sewing, building hardware, and weathering. Plus, Adam gets a surprise!

OMG. Sorry but this is amazing, beautiful work. Great to hear that museums and such are contacting you for replicas. Makes history just that little bit more accessible.

I do hope you can offer the cameras up for sale soon.

These suits are quite simply breathtaking Ryan.

I really want one of those A7LBs but I know I won't be first in line.

Adam gives a tour of his Apollo A7L spacesuit replica, made by industrious suit builder Ryan Nagata. The attention to detail and fabrication techniques make this suit one of Adam's favorites in his collection. You may have seen Adam wear this spacesuit in the final season of Mythbusters!

Adam is awestruck by Ryan Nagata's replica of an Apollo-era pressure suit. This meticulous recreation of what was underneath the iconic white A7-L spacesuits showcases the engineering challenges that the spacesuit designers at ILC had to surmount to give Apollo astronauts mobility while keeping constant volume of the suit. Adam and Ryan geek out about the details of this replica, which Ryan brought to show at this year's SiliCon convention!

Find more of Ryan's work here.

Just saw this post. I commissioned an A7LB from Ryan and received it a few months ago. It is absolutely incredible. Even the stitching is accurate. I highly recommend getting on the list as these suits are works of art.
