Hobby Master have announced the third in their "Legend" series: Captain Eugene Cernan, "The Last Man on the Moon".Be interesting to see how this compares to the Dragon figures. |

Is this another "phantom" model from Hobby Master (one that is produced but never listed on their website, eg.HM-HH1012 UH-1 Helicopter HA(L)-3 Seawolves, US Navy Task Force, 1967)?

Maybe not (replying to my own post!). Hobby Master has opened a page for "Action Figure". The first figure is Col. C. E. Bud Anderson. Gene Cernan is not (yet) listed but that's a start. |

Great details but the Omega Speedmaster is worn upside down. |

But a lack of details on the PLSS, that was bulkier than the ones used on the first missions (side pockets missing, etc.). |

I think they did a great job with Cernan's likeness on this. |

Agreed. Hobby Master is also pretty diligent with details on their aircraft models; hopefully they address the above mentioned issues before production. |

You can find some detailed pictures here. Click to zoom. The PLSS looks awfully small... |

I do not understand this by the neck ring, the folded area. |

The boots and the helmet both look oversized to me. The proportions just seem off. However the likeness is remarkable. |

KG Hobby gas it on sale for $80 with $34 shipping. Is this too good to be true? Claims to be $114 off. |

I knew something didn't look right. The first page declares it is $114 off, but the next page states they simply rebill it when shipped. Sort of shady. |

I have emailed Hobby Master several times, through their webpage, asking if they had any update to their projected shipping date. They have not responded to any of the emails.Has anyone heard anything about the Cernan action figure from them? |

I think it looks brilliant, it's very similar to the Buzz Aldrin released in 2002. I have made a few changes to mine. The wrist connections were both red, so I painted one blue, the hoses needed fixing and a few added. The detail is exceptional, even for 2002. The new version with Cernan in a A7LB suit is just as detailed, if not more. The red CDR stripes can be removed for LMP versions, although there is a lack of detail on the PLSS, CDR stripes missing, and the extra rock sample bags. I'm sure they could be added. Noticeable add-ons or changes I can see from the two versions, a better looking strap system for the PLSS, boots more detailed, pressure suit gauge, note pad, hammer, LEVA helmet with new sun visors, the snoopy cap looks great with the comms added, and a stand. I will be purchasing this beauty once it's released. This will be a great piece for anyone's collection. |

The new 1/6 Capt Gene Cernan is very similar to Dragon's Buzz Aldrin. Both boots are hard plastic not rubber, the glove gauntlets are attached this time. The bubble helmet is in two parts, which do not hold together well, but once the LEVA is added is fine. The hoses are better, but still missing is the comms cable. |

You can pre-order the figure from Big Bad Toy Store (BBTS). I've had excellent service from them in the past and so has my son. |

I was very happy to receive to complete my collection with Dragon figurine two Buck, Aldrin and the Apollo 11 commander. I am disappointed by what I see...A snoopy cap black? (Dragon had corrected the error on the figurine Apollo 11 commander.) False zipper side. Fortunately I know an excellent seamstress. The neck ring is really detach from the rest of the spacesuit? The "hooks" of the helmet bubble? No very disappointed. |

They got the hammer wrong. It should be a chisel end, not a pick, and it is styled like the early light hammer rather than the heavy hammer of the J missions. |

I'm attending a dinner/lecture event in April in Pontefract and I'll be afforded the chance to obtain Gene Cernan's autograph. I was considering having him sign the left hand side of the PLSS backpack on my Hobby Masters model. Has anyone had their model signed before and if so, how did it turn out? Thanks for your help guys! |

My only concern would be the ink bleeding on the fabric, but as I don't have the figure myself, I can't call that one personally. Not 1/6th, but I had Dick Gordon sign my Dragon Space CSM. After having 1,001 tickets and photographs pushed in his face beforehand, he seemed genuinely happy and interested to see something different, and he had a good look around it. I had not yet glued the RCS thrusters in place, and one of them came off in his hands. As I reached down to pick it up, he said 'damn, I'm still breaking spacecraft all these years later.'

Could anyone tell me did the item come with a display stand, with his name on?Did it also come with a moon plan, i.e. prompt cards showing the tasks for that particular EVA? Thanks. |

Yes, the Cernan figure has a stand that supports the figure with a small nameplate on the base. |
