Thanks all, I know it's just a plain old boring Saturn V that's been done many times before but it was fun and I've missed being here. |

Wow, thank you Gary and Norman, I've forgotten how much fun I've been missing building again and displaying work here amongst fellow cSer's as this is special. I also must thank the cS member for hatching this idea and who's work this will be. |

Does anybody know what's happened to Steve Nichols? He has not been active for a while and is not responding to emails. Just a bit concerned about him, thanks guys. |

I made contact with Steve and while he is on the mend, he's had a rough time of it.The Friday after Thanksgiving last year he was airlifted to a hospital in Pennsylvania after a series of heart attacks the week before. Three stents later and in the week post surgery, he suffered an internal bleed due to the blood thinners. Home these days and in physical torture, I mean therapy. Steve sends his thanks for all of your concerns. |

Steve, we haven't met but I'm a big fan of your work — and indeed I have something you helped create (a 1:32 F-1 Engine Display created by Michael Key that you did the painting for). So just FYI, your work spans at least as far as Hawaii! I'm very sorry to hear you've had some health challenges but I wish you a full and speedy recovery. From the islands, I send my aloha. |

My guess would be that its a bag filled with trash that will be jettisoned and end up slightly under the LM as shown in this photo. |

Thank you all! Buzz’s legs and jettison bag are visible inside the hatch area. Neil's figure is a conversion of Buzz who in the cockpit pictures is still a WIP. The ascent stage is covered in .005 thick plastruct sheet with every rivet embossed by hand. Descent stage is covered with a survival blanket, Mylar balloon, candy wrapper and aluminum foil. Eagle had a pitch of 4.37 degrees on the +Z axis and a 0.33 roll on the +Y axis that you can just pick out in pictures. |

Steve, fantastic job!Since you are obviously trying to make this very accurate, may I point out a few details. You have done a great job of getting the interior fabric and Velcro to match the appearance of the spacecraft, as it appears today in museums. They have a brownish cast. However, check out photos from the time of the missions and you will see that they are grey. On this forum see this topic for a good example. On that page at the bottom is a recent view of Gemini 7 (with brownish fabrics), while the photo above it is Gemini 4 in 1965 (grey fabrics). Also I want to make sure you are aware that the exterior flaps along the hatch hinge are only raised when the hatch is open. I suppose you plan to display the model with the hatches open, so the flaps extended as you have them would be right. |

Fred, Pascal and John thank you so much! Yes I am aware of the fabric color but they were printed with the kit and being built on commission I must follow the client's instructions. The hinge thermal panels articulate as the hatches open and do actually fit as well as they can up against the outer cone. Jim Key is working on completing the first build of this model with this being the second one built since being released. |
