I have been trying to ID or find history on this custom shipping case with optics and a machined aluminum spring loaded plate on top. It came protected with two heavy duty steel plates cinched together with bars. Here are some details: - Came from Marshall Space Flight center
- Contains "SOV" Glass
- Case made by Monrovia
- Has MDAC-HB sticker on sides
- Is Pressurized.
- Came with a "Clean Room" Log book and had been regularly cleaned and purged with Nitrogen for 2 years
- PN 776-170007-1 (B) for top plate
- PN 776-170008-1 (C) lower plate
I've read every NTS Report and Memorandum on Spacelab I can find, I even asked Curious Marc if he knew what it was, he said it was from Spacelab and flight ready, but did not know for what it was for. Do any of you kind optics gurus have an idea or can point me in the right direction? I would so very much appreciate any effort into ID'ing these item.
