Before today's (Aug. 17) spacewalk was cut short by an electrical issue with an Orlan spacesuit, Russian cosmonaut Denis Matveev was spotted toting a white cat outside of the International Space Station.

Is this the first time a toy doll has been carried on an extravehicular activity (EVA)?

The past two or three Russian EVAs have had one or two plushes worn outside. In previous spacewalks Oleg Artemyev had a Siberian Tiger and a Snow Leopard plush attached to his suit.

All times are CT (US)
