Are these leather sole socks still widely available? Haven't seen these in use on the space shuttle for a long time now? The Original Slipper Sock - over 40 years and still going strong. The legendary shoe sock, slipper sock has made missions to the moon with NASA. |

I bought a set of these and feel like an astronaut walking around my home. They are very comfortable as they use a layer of memory foam inside the shoe portion. The package says they have been used on the shuttle since Ken Mattingly brought his own pair aboard in 1982. Wearing my shuttle shoes, holding a shuttle tile and reading a book on the shuttle — does it get any better for a space enthusiast? I don't think so. |

You can see these in many onboard photos of the pre-Challenger shuttle era. Don't know if these are still used on the ISS? |

Reviving an old thread — has anyone seen in private hands, or own themselves, a pair of these slipper socks that were flown or used in training?I know the National Air and Space Museum a couple of pairs in its collection. |

I don't know, but they look very comfortable and I'd like a pair! |

I always thought these were Lands’ End brand. Look pretty similar to the older style from the 80’s. |
