Any info on these silver "Man's First Moon Landing" commemorative medals said to be struck while Apollo 11 was in space? Seems like should be more on the net. Simple math says about 750 per day minted between the July 20, 1969 lunar landing and July 24, 1969 splashdown. (Photos via eBay 166657370321.) This is to certify that this HM Silver Medal of 2 1/4" diameter, is on if an issue limited to 2,500. Striking commenced at the exact moment of Man's First Landing on the Moon, 8.19p.m. 20.7.1969 A.D. and the complete issue was struck during the historic hours before splashdown in the Pacific at 4.49 p.m. 24.7.1969 A.D. Each medal bears its serial number on the rim. The number of this medal is 1326.
