Please excuse my ignorance, but where does this vehicle fit into NASA's programme?

The X-37 began as a NASA development program, but was transferred to DARPA in 2004.

Today, NASA flies experiments on the OTV at the invitation of the Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office. For OTV-6, NASA had two radiation exposure studies aboard: a materials sample plate and a package of plant seeds.

Thanks Robert. I'd no idea these X-craft were still in use.

Here's the DAF/RCO USSF-52 OTV-7 coin. I thought it was particularly interesting that the front side of the coin is in black and silver — a nod to its slipping deeper into the DEEP BLACK maybe?

All times are CT (US)
