Looks like another new coin, Apollo 13 50th. As seen on eBay: |

Was comparing to the 40th version, artwork looks same, just larger and more attractive on 50th. If I had to guess I would think the goal is for all the missions to be out by July. I think they just got behind schedule, however it does seem like we should have seen Apollo 12 pop up before this one. |

I'd love to pick one up. They'll probably be considerably cheaper once they're in all the NASA gift shops. Does anyone know who the manufacturer of these is? I'd rather go to the source. |

Winco is the company behind the coin, but I do not think they have a retail shop. |

I am confused. I got the new black version and it's the same as what I had. Is there a gold version as suggested in the photos?

I believe the bronze (gold) background version has not yet been released, but is still coming. |

According to The Space Store, the black version of the medallion is 1/1,970, for those that like to track that information. |

I'm interested in seeing if there's an "all bronze" version of the medallion that's similar to the Apollo 17 two medallion set Tim was mentioning. I did see the preorder on eBay of the all "black" version without the COA. Maybe the "bronze" version is limited to 1970 even though the "black" version has that mintage number and COA? I haven't really talked to Andy at Winco about it.That said, maybe something to look out for are the flown metal pins commemorating the 50th anniversary of the landings and to see if there's any indications of the pin or medallion release. So far there are the Apollo 11 and Apollo 13 flown metal pins available. |

Per Winco, the Apollo Program 50th Anniversary edition of the Apollo 13 50th anniversary medallion — the all bronze version — is still coming. It may be available in about a month (pending confirmation). Like the 40th anniversary medallions, the Apollo Program 50th Anniversary edition will be available in a much larger number than the "black" version available now. |
