I recently purchased the "SRB Reunion" medallion, one of three in the Galaxy Medals "Gem of the Galaxy" series. Interestingly, there are at least three variants of the STS-1 medallion. The reunion one is something I haven't seen before, any information would be great! |

Wow, I have the middle coin — I did not realize a "series" or that there were two others. You learn something new each day. Thanks for posting, Joe. |

I picked up a medallion today that has the third medallion's back of "A New Era of Space Exploration" but the other side is "Alabama Space and Rocket Center" with a rocket and small shuttle in middle instead of "The Gem of the Galaxy." |

Another good one Patrick! Just to let you know, there's three other versions of the STS-1 10th Anniversary bronze medallion, including this medallion. I have this medallion, but the reverse side shows the external tank separation and lists the manufacturer, Martin Marietta. |
