The GRAIL ULA medallion does not contain flown metal, but rather material from the launch complex (as noted by the inscription, "Minted with metal from SLC-17").

As a related aside, ULA medallions are minted prior to launch.

Robert — my mistake, you are correct, should have said blended metal, not flown. Still a nice coin.

Jason, these ULA medallions sure in demand. I got the WGS-7 yesterday, really thought you were going to get the IIf-10 today, had avoided bidding on it today. Surprised it went that high.

Patrick, as much as I really wanted them I had to walk away, but I tried.

My wife wouldn't exactly be thrilled either!

Nice! Got the generic version of the Parker Solar Probe coin, but was wondering if ULA would put out their own. Been awhile since I have seen any up for auction.

Been trying to get find them, both ULA and the "generic" ones and missed out on them. I know there's two other ones that follow closely the JHU APL patch and 45th Space Wing patch.

Do you have any extras?

While not technically a ULA medallion, the "End of an Era - Delta II" medallion for the flight today (Sept. 15), really nice looking.

I just got this coin and on the side border of the coin, it states "This coin contains metal from the mobile service tower at SLC-2."

A neat surprise to find.

I may have the whole Delta IV collection as the GPS-III. The only ones I don't have and I don't know if they exist are:
  • DSCS-3 A3 (I have DSCS-3 B6)
  • DSP-23
  • DMSP-5D3 F17
  • GOES N, O & P (I don't believe any were made)

Trying to fill the holes in my Atlas collection. There have been 80 launches, with maybe 70 of them having coins. I am about twenty short. The issue, again, is knowing what ones exist. I don't think there were any for the first six commercial flights.

I have added ULA coins to my site.

Only those with pictures of the coins that I have or could find on the web. If you know of others please send me a picture. Please note that these are the ones put out by ULA and not a version put out by one company (such as Boeing).

I have completed my research on the ULA mission/coins, including two new coins I found images of (NROL-30 and IIF-9). Here are the results. Again If I am missing any please let me know and provide photos as I have exhausted my internet searching abilities...
  • 137 ULA Mission
  • 63 Delta (30 Delta II, 10 Delta IV Heavy, 23 Delta IV)
  • 74 Atlas V
Of which I have confirmed that the following have an ULA version coin (via photo or actual coin)
  • 96 ULA Mission
  • 33 Delta (5 Delta II, 9 Delta IV Heavy, 19 Delta IV)
  • 63 Atlas V
There are also three non-mission coins.

I have uploaded a spreadsheet with all the missions/coins to my site (see downloads).

Thanks to Jim B I have confirmed (got photos) another 7 coins. I have updated my site and the spreadsheet to show these.

Will be adding LSP and other launch coins in the future. Also updated my flown metal medals spreadsheet.

Please let me know if I missed anything or have something wrong. Thanks.
