Is anyone familiar with this medallion that honors Florida native John Young's Gemini space flight? It appears to be maybe gold plated as it has not tarnished. Size is about 1.25"
The front shows a profile image of the astronaut and reads "JOHN YOUNG AWARD" above and "ORLANDO 1965 FLORIDA" below. Obverse says:
Presented to JOHN YOUNG by the citizens of Orlando, Florida for Outstanding Achievement, Two-man Gemini Space Flight, March 23, 1965.

This appears to be a memento from the presentation of the first John Young Award to its namesake on April 24, 1965 in Orlando. Here is a photo of Young wearing the award:

I have one as well. How many of these commemorative medallions were issued? According to Numista index they are rare.
