STS-44, launched 6:44pm ET on November 24, 1991, was the 44th flight of the Space Shuttle and the 10th for the orbiter Atlantis. The primary objective was the deployment of the Defense Support Program (DSP) satellite.
Prior to the mission, the STS-44 crewmembers were outfitted with a selection of clothing to wear while on-orbit. As with all flights, the astronauts operated in "shirt-sleeve" comfort while working inside the orbiter.
This red, white and blue Lands' End long sleeve knit shirt ("Authentic Rugby") with "4TL4NTIS STS-44" embroidered on the chest was worn by Pilot Terence "Tom" Henricks during the mission.
