Hereby I certificate that being the commander of the 22nd "MIR" resident crew in summer 1996, I put the pair of sportboots into the special personal parcel prepared to be delivered to "MIR" station to the commander of the 22nd "MIR" crew by American Space Shuttle "Atlantis" STS-79.

Due to a medical problem in several days before the launching of the 22nd "MIR" crew I was withdrawn from the crew.

The flight was performed by cosmonaut Valerij Korzun as the commander of the 22nd "MIR" crew. So, in the "MIR" commander's parcel delivered by STS-79 crew V. Korzun found my sportboots. V. Korzun marked the sportboots with the "MIR" board seals and put the boots into a special personal parcel to deliver them back to Earth by "Atlantis" STS-79. The boots was returned to me as a flown souvenir."
