Thermal Protection Tile

Comment: Maiden flight of the Space Shuttle

This segment of thermal protection tile is from one of the 148 that was damaged and removed from Columbia after STS-1 landed. This tile was presented to Harold H. Hill, a biomedical administrator at NASA Johnson Space Center, for his "steadfast support of the Space Shuttle program."
