Apollo Mode Display

Location: Mission Control Center
Comment: In 1996, the original Mission Control Center was
designated a national landmark.

This Apollo-era Mission Control Center mode display was used to monitor command loads associated with the Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package (ALSEP) and Particle and Fields Satellite (P&FS). The latter was a sub-satellite released into lunar orbit from the Service Module to study the plasma, particle and magnetic field environment of the Moon and map the lunar gravity field. The right side of this panel may have been used to select a command load and then the command control mode assigned to Flight Control.
