Recently a friend of mine approached me with some slides he found in the house his mom moved into in the early '90s. They are glass slides, approximately 3"x3 1/2" with a thin metal border, and show mostly pictures of the Moon's surface. From the few I saw, Surveyor 3 and 6 were both identified. He wrote me and said "some have a light blue border, with "NASA Code No. ___ Rev. ___" across the top and "Copy No. ___" on the bottom right. All have handwritten black numbers on the metal border. The only handwritten date on the batch I have in front of me is "12.12.67" on the spot on the top right where it says, "Rev ___" He says there are around 100 total and is working on getting me pics to post here. Does anyone have an idea what they might be just from the description? Were they some educational slide show or, being on Long Island, some Grumman LEM related presentation? As soon as he sends them my way I will post any pictures I get. Hopefully someone will know. | |
