€200-2000 per NASA print?! I see they have an Aldrin visor print on the homepage with a €1500 (nearly $1900) opening price!!!This is much like the auction in Paris a while back that someone pointed out. It seems that original NASA prints (unsigned) have been classified as rare vintage photos in Europe and so have become an art collectible, with the associated prices.
A year or so ago you could buy these prints on eBay for maybe $10-40 but now the art collectors/resellers are willing to pay at least $200+ per print, knowing that they can resell them at these auctions for $300-2000+ depending on the shot.
This is very bad news for those of us who liked to get NASA glossies to have signed. I can't see any space collectors paying that kind of money for a NASA print so it can only be photographic art collectors buying the end product.
The funny thing is that if you had two numbered NASA glossies of that visor shot - one signed by Armstrong and one unsigned - you could probably sell both for a similar amount. The signed one to one bunch of loonies (the astronaut autograph collectors) for maybe $2000+ and the unsigned one to the other bunch of loonies (the vintage photo collectors) for maybe $2000+.
