As t/space - a company that wants to offer suborbital flights - didn't win a NASA $500 million Commercial Orbital Transportation Services (COTS) demonstration programme will they lose out on New Mexico SIC investment funding or does it have other US government contract worth $100 million or more lined-up which would allow them to qualify?

The NM statute authorizing this contract (and others like it) requires the company receive an aerospace contract or grant from the United State government or any of its agencies of at least $100 million. No specific agency or contract is mentioned by the law.

Theoretically, T/Space just needs any US contract or grant worth at least $100 million to qualify. However, T/Space's contract with New Mexico may be contingent on the award of this specific NASA contract. I do not know.

Newspacerace.blogspot.com is a blog run by a staffer in the NM Dept. of Economic Development. It covers New Mexico "space" happenings, and surely has a post or two about the T/Space investment if this topic interests you.

I've been lurking here on and off for a while. In addition to being a second year law student, once a upon a time, I worked in the NM Legislature. I was happy to see a thread I could bring something meaningful to.
