Progress MS-24 launches to space station

The 85th Progress cargo spacecraft to head for the International Space Station, Progress MS-24 is now on its way, having launched on Wednesday (Aug. 22) at 9:08 p.m. EDT (0108 GMT or 6:08 a.m. local time) from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

The resupply ship reached its preliminary orbit and deployed solar arrays and navigational antennas to begin a two-day, 34-orbit journey to the space station.

The Progress will dock to the Zvezda service module on Thursday (Aug. 24) at 11:50 p.m. EDT (0350 GMT Aug. 25).

On board, the Progress is carrying about three tons of food, fuel, and supplies for the Expedition 69 crew.

Progress docks to space station

The Progress MS-24 spacecraft docked to the aft port of the International Space Station's Zvezda service module on Thursday (Aug. 24) at 11:45 p.m. EDT (0345 GMT Aug. 25).

Progress undocks from space station

The Progress MS-24 spacecraft undocked from the International Space Station on Monday (Feb. 12) at 9:09 p.m. EST (0209 GMT Feb. 13).

Loaded with trash, the Progress was deorbited by RSC Energia flight controllers over the Pacific Ocean after spending six months at the station.
