Hi Robert I was watching a program some time back here in the UK and you were on it wearing a dark Polo shirt with your website logo CollectSpace on it.I was just wondering if you have any plans for the future in selling these Polo shirts as i for one would be very interested in purchasing one, and i bet i am not on my own on this. ------------------ Best Wishes ROB http://www.picturetrail.com/madon_space |

We used to offer these polos through the site and they didn't sell very well so they were discontinued. If there was enough interest, it would be easy to reintroduce them... |

Robert-Sounds like an opportunity to reserect the cS emblem idea I had earlier this year. I'd wear a cS shirt with pride. Tim |

Okay, I'm convinced By week's end (barring any unexpected mission events) I'll have the order form up on buySPACE for the basic logo polo we offered before. Further cS apparel will be introduced as desired/merited. Any special requests? |

Yay! Another shirt to wear to school and support my space "enthusiasm". I know that almost everyone in my grade thinks that I am a wakko because I am so into this, but I don't care. I'm sure that I am not the only one here who got picked on in school. It's alright. I'm going to be laughing at them when I'm riding rockets! Just today, those jerks were laughing at my Enterprise shirt while I was watching NASA TV on the computer duringmy tech class. I guess they think I am a nerd. That's cool with me, I wish I was a nerd. Can't wait to rub CS in their faces, with all of you behind me! ------------------ Mike [Edited by FutureAstronaut (September 12, 2006).] |

FutureAstronaut, don’t let them bother you. You sound like you are going through the same things I did when I was in school and that was at a time when NASA was in the middle of going to the moon. My space enthusiasm got me through a degree in Aerospace Engineering them on to Manage an Engineering group for the finest Business Aircraft company in the world. Grab that dream and don’t let go, it’s a great ride!! |

Hey, don't feel bad. I was just like you when I was in school. You should see my house! My living room is full of Skylab and earlier, my dining room has a space shuttle theme, and my family room is the aviation room. Other odds and ends are in my bedroom. I also have an observatory in my backyard with a 12" LX200. I'm fortunate enough to have a girlfriend who is just as bad as me - she keeps adding more things to the rooms. You are doomed to end up like the rest of us. Sorry! Hehe! Tom (Oh Robert, add me to the list for shirts also!) quote: Originally posted by FutureAstronaut:

FutureAstronaut-Ditto on what everyone else has said. You are a kindred spirit and if you stay motivated, we'll all be writing you for autographs. Just promise you won't send an autopens to cS'rs. Kris - Carpenter a nerd maybe but you...never. Tim |

Thanks everyone.I really don't care what everyone else thinks. Some people say that this can't be true, but reall, I don't. I used to hang out with a popular crowd. I still do, but not as much in school. I try to be unlike them. They don't care about grades, and have no idea what a Saturn V is. This year, I have gotten a group of friends, more of my class. Not nerds, but close. I go to the library ever day with Adam to do HW. Adam is a genius, and that is true. He can become anything he wants without even trying. To prove my nerdship, I am joining Video Yearbook! When I become an astronaut, you won't even have to write for autographs. I'll post here, and everyone who wants a few autographs can reply. Maybe we can arrage a signed picture with every Countdown Creations order. Ms. Stoever, I could never see Carpenter as a nerd. ------------------ Mike [Edited by FutureAstronaut (September 13, 2006).] |

Nerds of the world unite! Honestly, I'd bet almost everyone on this website is pretty nerdy. I mean, collecting space stuff isn't really cool now is it? I mean, don't get me wrong, I love it but its not quite the same as say, you know, motorcycles or mountain biking or something. But its what we like, so we're here. I mean, yeah, I hung out with some cool kids in high school but I was in the band, I didn't play football, I used big words and wore heavy metal t-shirts. I was pretty nerdy. I only had one girlfriend the whole time. I got in college joined a rock band but I also joined a really popular fraternity (yuck! I was a fraternity boy?) and got elected to the student Senate and then my class President my Senior year. I got in law school and went to work as an attorney in the Governor's Office and married a very good looking PR girl who also worked in the Governor's Office. Hey, being a nerd paid off. You know what? High School really is a short period in your life that doesn't amount to much. Yeah, I didn't enjoy high school but I've loved every part of my life after high school. Just work on your grades, have what fun you can and then go to college. High School doesn't make any difference in the end and you probably won't ever think about it. The only time I think about High School is when I go back home to see my parents and then I get a twisted little thrill knowing that I'm doing better than the people who thought I was a nerd! Living well is the best revenge you know.

I bought a cS polo a couple of years ago, specifically to wear to the UACC show in Burbank, hoping that it would help me meet other cSers. It's a great looking shirt, and I'm going to wear it to work tomorrow. (That was already the plan before I read this string tonight.) I must admit, though, that it got very little attention at the Burbank show. The folks that I met there (and I think of all you fellow crazy nerds just about every day) I met other than through the shirt. I'm glad the shirt is being resurrected, and I hope it does work better to draw us folks together at future gatherings.------------------ Don |

I'm such a space nerd that I wear a chunk of Soyuz parachute sometimes. I bought one of those jackets with the small piece of parachute sewn on the front of it. I got it for my space geek girlfriend for Christmas, but I seem to wear it more. So who is lucky enough to have a geeky significant other that shares your hobby? Tom |

Hi Don, I had the pleasure to meet you at the Burbank show. I saw the cS logo on your shirt and introduced myself to you in the Gene Cernan line. So the shirt did work at least once! I am sorry I was not able to stick around after the signings to catch up with you and the other cSers that were there. Regards, Mikie[Edited by mikepf (September 15, 2006).] |

Mike, I think I do recall that. (A lot of that whole experience is kind of a blur--I was pretty pumped.) I wish you could have stuck around a little bit more, too. I sure enjoyed talking with several cSers during the weekend.------------------ Don |

PLEASE NOTE: I removed what I thought was a pretty funny message because, on reflection, I decided it could possibly be considered in poor taste.I beg you to understand I'm on medication and such a thing will NEVER happen again. And to paraphrase Abraham Lincoln, "God must have loved poor taste because he made so much of it." [Edited by Duke Of URL (October 02, 2006).] |
