Hi all- I just looked at the calendar and was amazed to see how soon the show is! I would like to publicly thank Al H who has been amazing answering email questions and comments on the event. He has more patience than I could ever dream of!
Heres a quick run down of what our plans are for the few days. I am sorry if this bores anyone, I just figured I would put this here to get any suggestions/comments about our plans. Or even maybe some of you plan to be at some of these things at the same time, so don't forget to say hello!
My father and I will be flying in on Friday and set to arrive in FLA by 10 AM or so.
We are getting a rental car from Enterprise- Who knows how far their cars are from the airport but the price was right.
We then will check into our room at the Days Inn. (We booked a great rate before Al announced the special rates at other establishments). Any one else staying here? I am thinking its not to far from the show (3755 Cheney Hwy, 50) but well see.
Then its off to the AST HOF. I was there in January but was rushed so hopefully I can see everything this time around.
No night plans as of now. Really just seeking a decent supper to get to bed early for the big day in the morn.
On Saturday we will be at the show all day meeting our heroes (including Al haha). I have bought tons of stuff including stacks of great photos of all sizes as well as some pieces I need additional sigs on. We will be at both the cocktail party and the dinner. We chose to sit with Ed Mitchell because I have been told he can be quite the story teller on the right night. (I even sprung for a bigger memory stick for my digi cam to ensure I get lots of pics and video clips).
On Sunday we will be up bright and early to get to KSC to do some quick site hopping (IMAX, Space Shop, Ast Encounter, Rocket Garden etc) and then off on the Then and Now Tour. We booked tickets some months ago and have been told the tour is from 12:20 ish-3:20ish. Unfortunately we will be all packed and ready to drive to the airport right after the tour ends because our flight back to New Joisey is at 6:55pm. We hope to have the car dropped off by 5.
Sorry if I bored yall- Any thoughts? Did I forget anything in the area I should check out? Anyone planning similar stuff?
I look forward to meeting everyone. Work and school have been rough lately on me so seeing some moon men might be right up my alley. I am only 24 but I truly recognize how special these men are and have decided to make the trip to prove it.
Thanks Al (and your partners) for all the hard work. The invitations look great.
