Anyone out there had any luck with Jack
Schmitt lately? I sent him a photo around
mid-September and haven't got a response
yet! I know he's been busy with Apollo 17
30th Anniversary events, but I was hoping
he would still be doing his annual signing
through the mail...I'm still hopeful!

Hi Paul,

I`ve been looking closely at the posts with regard to Harrison Schmitt. I opened a thread last year asking for information with regards to Dr.Schmitt and his signing habits. I was looking for information and received a lot of useful information on the subject.

I also searched back thru Collectspace threads and got a lot more information by doing that.
I sent an 8 x 10 to Dr.Schmitt last July, I am led to belive that he had carried out one of his signing`s slightly earlier in the year., I am aware of a number of events like you have mentioned that Dr.Schmitt will have attended recently - 30 year anniversary.

I wonder if this work will have delayed his Christmas signing - I read somewere that he has his mail collated.. identifies possible dealer requests and multiple requests... and then signs the ones he`s willing to sign during the break in school holidays.
I understand that he teaches ... and uses the break to catch up on requests for his autograph.

I wonder if anyone else out there has had any recent success ???
I feel that they would automatically be reported though by the delighted recipiant !!

I`ll carry on watching the posts on the site.. and keep a keen eye out for postman.
The post is still a bit slow over here after the holiday in any case.

Best of luck to you anyway.

Regards,

Andrew

I am hoping to receive something as well. I sent a photo to him earlier this year in hopes of catching his end-of-year signing. To date I have not received anything, though someone else on a similar thread seemed to indicate that he had already completed it for 2002. In which case we appear to be out of luck for the present.

In the past it seems as though someone usually posts when they receive something from him. I have not seen such a post recently, though I may have missed something.

I too assume that he has been extraordinarily busy these past few months with the anniversary.

Hello Paul,

I sent a WSS Portrait to Harrison Schmitt in August and he signed and returned it in 7 days.
