Although I have many "friends" from C.Space, I am most notorious and infamous for "being a brat" and whatever else, and causing trouble and raising rather heated debates. Since I am sure Robert, our message board dictator, will either delete or close this post, I would like to welcome all email comments you may have. While I respect all of the hard work (and I really do mean this) that Robert and the rest of the "admin" put in on CS, I feel that their recent closing of Wayne (both a friend and someone whom I debate quite a bit with) was very wrong. I find it despicable (and am making it known) that the bias administration of CS found it "necessary" to close down Wayne's topic like some ruler of a communistic country who, when he or his friends are spoken badly of, hollers 'off with his head!' This is not the purpose of an internet message board. The whole reason the d*mn thing is there is so we, as collectors, can share our views. Why, then, does he see it necessary to close down a topic in which his friend is being belittled and deserves it! What Kim Poor did to him has no place in a reputable business such as Novaspace. I had gotten together a list of several paintings that I planned to order from him over the course of 2001, about 1000-1500 dollars worth of merchandise. Albeit this will not hardly put Poor out on the street, it is fact that he will never receive a dime from me. If "hurting people's business and/or feelings" is a concern of collectspace, please shut down the Valusign category as most of what comes through there is "Beware of Ebay #xxxxxxxxxx." Has "the CS Admin" (ie Robert) ever shut one of these down. Perhaps, but I have yet to see it. Why, because they are not KIM POOR. They are not "reputable." Well, same difference. If an Ebay seller tries to rip someone off, we tell it and the whole CS community often gets involved. When Kim Poors absurd actions are reported on the board, the topic is closed! Again, I anticipate the closing of this topic the moment our valiant leader reads it, but I welcome your comments both good and bad, however, I ask that you use my web-based email so that I may check it from school and work as well as home. I will provide the address below. Ryan mgas_1@yahoo.com

While I believe your heart and intentions are in the right place Ryan, you could be no farther from the truth with your accusations. My decision to close the previous topic was not based on friendship or any other impartial reasoning. If it had, I could have easily deleted Wayne's initial post soon after its appearance or deleted the topic in its entirety. Yet it remains and will be available for anyone to read. As with previous topics which I have been forced to close, my decision was "dictated" by a violation of the rules set forth and agreed upon by every member who joins collectSPACE: Messages. And I quote: "You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this board to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law." The previous topic violated this policy and was therefore closed.

I agree that maybe some sort of limits should be placed on posts regarding Kim Poor and Novaspace, because of what he's done for the hobby. However, have I always been happy with him? Nope. I'd considered their customer service awesome until I asked about payment terms on an Alan Bean print. The page advertising the print had a link to payment terms, but when I asked about them, I got a rather terse response saying that no terms would be available, a response that was on the verge of being rude. Will I still do business with Novaspace? Yes. Have I ordered since then, about 9 months or so? No. Was I disappointed? You bet. | |
