Winding down a fantastic 2009, I wanted to express my sincere thanks for people who have been extremely helpful to me over the past year.
First, these business folk have been extraordinarily helpful and have provide products and services of the highest caliber:
Robert Pearlman, collectSPACE (of course)!
Donnis Willis, Lunar Legacies
Steve Hankow, Farthest Reaches
Kim Poor and all the gang at Novaspace
Florian Noller
Nicole Russ and all the gang at ASF
J.L. Pickering
I also want to give a special shout-out to those friends who I have met through collectSPACE who have been very generous with their time, knowledge, insights, encouragement, and good humor! In particular, Martin Impey, Steve Smith, Bill Sawchuck, Tim Burk, Scott Schneeweis, John Fongheiser, Fred Karst, Joel Katzowitz, Rich White, and Russ Still went well beyond the call of duty in helping me out this year. I'm deeply grateful for their insights.
I'm sure I've left someone out, and I apologize for doing so. But thank you, to everyone here at cS. You made this a wonderful year for me and I deeply cherish this community!

I hope everybody here has a safe, happy and major-hangover-free holiday season.
This year I hit on a great way to save on presents... I picked fights with everybody right after Halloween.

While it was a terrific year in Space, It was not so great year down here on Earth. Let's hope the new decade will bring peace and prosperity (as well as desperately needed jobs) to the world. Happy holidays to my collectSPACE family!

I hope some of you scored some goodies for your collection for Christmas. I got a star chart calender, nothing fancy. I bought myself that 4G see-through shuttle model as a gift for myself. Got a good deal from Orion telescopes for $99 on that one.
But this year rather than dealing with a bunch of men at the stores on 12/24 (yeah, I'm there fighting with them) searching for something that hopefully would get used and appreciated. I gave up on that idea this year and MADE my own gift.
Delivery of the parts took 2 million years, but I'm pretty happy how it looked once I got it all assembled. I printed this out as a 16x20 and framed it. Sure, it was a lot more work than going to the mall, but more fun and less stressful!
....best of all, I don't think it will be tossed in a corner and forgotten with the rest of the past year gifts.
