Does anyone know of a place on the web to find pictures of the unmanned mission emblems/logos. I know that New Horizons, Stardust, etc. all have logos but they don't even appear on the "official" websites. New Horizons, for example, has a picture posted on the "official" website of workers putting the logo on the rocket but no picture of the logo on the site. The press kit doesn't show it either. It is like this for a lot of the missions. Any resource location would be appreciated! |

If you tell me which ones you need I might be able to help; but there is no one source. I am familiar with where to find them, though. I have used some for modelling the launch vehicles. |

This is a great topic! Since I collect space patches I am always looking for images pertaining to different mission experiments, science, and payloads. What I have found works for me in finding standard as well as obscure mission art. "Google" search through the Images selection. When choosing the image search and using the word space emblem, space logo, Nasa Logo, Nasa Emblem or any combination of what you may be looking for, the search will often bring up images that when you click on the image the search will take you to very interesting and sometimes hard to find sites. Some sites are actually confidential sites that need a password to read anything about the mission, HOWever the artwork is usually on this opening page. I suspect many of those sites are mission related sites where those involved in the mission can exchange information about the project through a common resource on the web. I click on the image and save it to my pictures for a visual reference that often ties back into my patch collecting. You will often learn some very interesting facts about some of these missions or experiments in this way. The image search will work in other search engines as well, but Google seems to bring the most hits. Again, the more specific or creative you are in your search words will either bring you the specific image you are looking for or a broad range of subject matter. Good Hunting! |
