I'm thinking about buying a coffee shop and one thought I've had is to make it a space/aviation themed place. Any suggestions on what to name the place? Thanks for the help! Eric |

'The Undrinkable Oily Brown' maybe? Obviously you'd go bust in your first week but it's a catchy name. You could serve sandwiches too; any variety you like as long as it's corned beef. Cheers, Matt ------------------

Aviation/space themed is good -- but don't make it something which is embarassing to say, "Astronaut Java House" just isn't catchy, and it's not the kind of name that someone is going to say to their friends.Flying Saucers is good, but don't forget it's a restaurant first and a themed place only second (something places like Planet Hollywood never understood, but Hard Rock Cafe did). There is a great brewpub and pizza place here in Berkeley simply called "Jupiter" -- and it just hints and the space theme -- their logo was -- at one time -- a pint glass with LEM landing gear. But it never got away from bein a restaurant. |

I have to say I really like Colin's last idea. Possibly too obscure for the masses, but a great name nonetheless.------------------ http://allthese worlds.hatbag.net "America's challenge of today has forged man's destiny of tomorrow." - Commander Eugene Cernan, Apollo 17 Mission, 11 December 1972 |

I'm still laughing about Magnificent Perculation and Moonbucks ! HA HA !MY space themed restaurant would be Gene's Space Place......so I vote for Eric's Space Place. Oh, and Morning Blast was another good suggestion from our host......good one. My restaurant would have all sorts of signed space goodies and covers on the wall....all framed....but I would only put up framed COLOR photocopies of stuff up so nobody got any real stuff when they broke in.....and the original stuff would not get ruined by the light..... When you are ready to stock your souvenir counter, let me know.....we can talk about space stuff to sell.....but that's a whole 'nother post ! Good Luck ! Keep us posted...... |

Another thought...if it was aviation-themed, you could call it Clouds In My Coffee...but then you'd run afoul of using a line in a song...There was a coffee shop here in Syracuse called Federal Espresso, but FedEx sued and made them change the name. Too bad, it was clever! -C |
