The only day that we could have over in the Uk would be, 1,Nelson Day 2,Princess Di Day 3,Great Britain Day when it comes to having national holidays we are not very inventive, if the 07/04/04is on a Sunday, to compenstate do our fellowcollectors in the States get the Monday off as a public holiday to make up for the day on a sunday. Paul still 61 to go |

Nothing? A day where high explosives are heavily intermingled with alcohol? It is truly a great day! ;-) Thank you all for the kind words! ------------------ Warm Regards Douglas Henry Enjoy yourself and have fun.... it is only a hobby! |

Paul, Puh-leese, NO! If anything, we need Churchill Day, or St George's day. It's about time for a new one - we have the fewest bank holidays in Europe. Maybe there ARE some benefits to European unionism after all <ROFL>. Happy 4th to all. Paul Bramley

Hi, We on the Isle of Man- have ben celebrating TYNWALD DAY- the Manx parliament day- which is when theis island became not part ogf the UK- we have our own money, government, and the prices overhere are a lot dearer than the mainland. Also we do celebrate the 4th July-as well, since most of the inhabitants on this island are desendents from USA with connections in most states, and we are a weird lot- tailess cats, we talk to fairies, and today-we all celebrated for the 4th July and TYNWALD all dancing round a maypole, getting drunk, and generally enjoying ourselves, apart from the rain, hence we party indoors now. Just checking my e-mail,then back to the booze- {no babysitting tonight} WITH GRANDSON. TOOO-DRUNK-------- cheers from Brenda This was posted at 6.24pm gmt |

Actually, several of my British freinds have told me you do celebrate the 4th of July I believe it was called "Good Riddance Day" Seriously, thank you.We owe a lot to our shared British culture, plus we are very blessed with several other wonderful cultures, coming into one. We are still inventing Ameica is this ever shrinking World and Universe. |

As a Yank in Australia, I was "sick" from work on the Monday after the 4th. I reckon the boss knew better, but he is a man of good humor and didn't care.British heritage goes far and wide, even if many Australians want to be a republic. I still say "GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!" ------------------ Brian Peter astronautbrian@hotmail.com |

A friend of mine who's British but now lives here in the States had a "Colonists Got Uppity Day" party. Admission was a dish to pass or 228 years of back taxes. |

Paul, Being a Scotsman there's no way we'd celebrate St George's day.. given the choice of working or having a day off to celebrate an English Saint we'd take the former everytime <G> VBR, Derek |

Just got married on the 4th. Will have to go through painful process of changing my last name from the easy for everyone Poe to the difficult to spell and pronounce Giusti. But he's worth it. :-)An easy anniversary day to remember. |
