As an old-time EAAer, Oshkosh is always much the much awaited event of Summer. Difficult to describe except you are with one-million of your closest friends and there is not a bad seat in the house. I encourage checking out the AirVenture website for details, or at EAA.org.

I'll be there on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

As part of "Speaker Showcase", I will be giving a talk about the Aerocar entitled "A Drive in the Clouds", Saturday at Noon in the EAA Airventure Museum theater.

My wife and I would very much welcome listening to your address about the Aerocar on Saturday, July 29. What time will you be speaking?

Wow - the aerocar.

Whatever happened to the aerocar - it was treated almost as a 'joke' over here by our news channels many many years ago.

I'll be attending, with digital camera in hand.

Didn't realize NASA was going to have a mockup on display. I'll defintely make it a point to go out of my way to see those!

I've been there twice. 1993/94. First year I had just gotten my pilot's license and my instructor said "ya wanna fly to Oshkosh? You buy gas, we'll take my plane!". Of course I agreed.

20 hours after leaving Auburn, WA, the little Cessna 150 arrived in Appleton (OSH was full). We spent about 2 days at the show (not enough!) then 20 hours of flying back home again.

The next year we took a couple other guys with us and flew his dad's C-310 over. Much better! I think we spent about 5 days at the show that year, and only about 13 hours each way.

Hey Jake!
How is your Aerocar book coming along? I want an autographed copy when it's published!

Hi there...

I've been gone for almost two weeks to Oshkosh. A number of advanced copies of my book were sent out ahead and I sold them at the talk. The book will be in wide circulation very shortly - stay tuned, but they ARE done and printed.

To answer an earlier question on this post, Molt Talyor built five aerocars and all five are still around. The prototype is in Oshkosh at the EAA Museum, one is in the Museum of Flight is Seattle, and three are in private hands - one in Minnesota and two in Colorado. Two of them have flown within the past year.

Did anyone get lucky enough to snag some photos of the mockup that NASA was suppose to have on hand of the new vehicle which is to take us back to the moon?
