My family and I are driving from Pa. to Tx., as part of the trip we plan to go th Houston and visit the JSC. We want to get some of the local NASA flavor (more that the tour and the gift shop). I have heard of The Outpost and Frenchies (local NASA watering hole and restaurant)are there others? All the Apollo flyers all lived in the same development in the 60's is it still there? How far is it from JSC? In Cocoa Beach there is the Moon Hut. It has been there since the 60's and is like a history lesson of space flight for our three boys. I'm sure Houston has more of the same since it's home to NASA. We know it will be hot in Houston, in August, but some of your local knowledge will make it worth the trip. Thanks, Bill Walton |

There is a Ramada Inn across from JSC. Some Astronauts play in a band in the resturant area. Look at the markey, it will mention if they are playing that night/day. I saw this on cable show about the new Space Station. | |
