The patches look right to me, and I have seen research crews at Dryden wearing a lot of OD green stuff at the flight line in years past. How common is it for astronauts to be wearing OD green, though? |

I can't recall seeing any astronauts wearing this type/color of nomex jacket, especially astronauts from the shuttle era. It appears the jacket was manufactured in 1995.Plus, there is nothing tying this particular jacket to any astronaut. |

I never said or suggested it WAS worn by an astronaut, nor has the eBay seller.I was just curious how common OD green got used by them anyway. If I had to bet, I'd think this is probably something from NASA, but something worn by someone in flight test work at one of the military bases you often see them at... |

Lee, actually the eBay seller did suggest it was in their listing: It most likely was owned by a USAF Pilot / Astronaut. |

Don't know about astronauts (as the seller claims), but I have seen plenty of these worn by various people at Ellington Field. Though usually those also have JSC's aircraft operations directorate patch and sometimes other patches as well (STA, super guppy, T-38, etc.). |

Good point on the Ellington ops. I've seen a B-57 crew wearing all OD stuff with NASA patches and large US flags.I've also seen astronauts getting in and out of the 38s, usually with OD green helmet bags. That always confused me as many companies make them in varying blue colors (I don't think I've seen a commerical helmet bag in royal blue, though). |
