I was at an estate sale and I was interested in getting the Buzz Aldrin and David Scott photos for my upstairs loft (which is vintage game systems/sci-fi/space themed) and electronics workshop (different room).Google Drive Link (approximately 200MB).
It was apparently the last day of the estate sale and they just wanted to get rid of it (apparently not many people showed interest), so I made them an offer on all of it. I don't usually do that unless its a subject matter I know, but I liked them well enough for the price. Even if totally worthless, they are cool!
There are pictures and material from Apollo 9 through to Apollo 17 era. The man who owned this collection had an uncle that worked for NASA when he was young. I wrote the name down, but cannot seem to find it of the employee.
There are quite a few Jupiter photos and apparently that is one of the research areas his uncle worked in. There is even a picture of Jupiter on Kodak paper with no markings with a solid picture of one of the moons. It looks pretty early. There are other pictures with military hand-numbered markings. A little less than half are on glossy paper and most are clearly made for promotion.
There is an employee document (for Apollo working members) and a copy of the 10-year Apollo 11 declaration made by Pres. Carter that appears as an official copy (paper and aging is correct).
I am asking how to best preserve and enjoy these photos and prints as well as if there is something I should be especially careful with. Is this a collection that needs more serious evaluation? Or, can I just frame these in some acid free matting and frames without much worry?
