Excuse my ignorance on this subject. Are there faked versions of the Buzz Aldrin 25th Anniversary Watch out on the internet being sold? My intuition says yes...If so what are the differences between a real one and not? |

I'm not sure why someone would go to the trouble of faking the watch, as it not a particularly high-value timepiece. The flown material included in the watch was reportedly melted NASA Manned Flight Awareness medals. As the medals themselves were minted with only a small percentage of flown metal, resulting in just a few symbolic molecules of flown metal in each, it's questionable if the watches had any flown material. The watches were widely marketed. They were a "limited edition" of 25,000. |

I think I paid $79.95 for mine in 1984. I have seen them occasionally on eBay in the $50-$125 range. Mine no longer is reliable but I thought it was a "conversation piece" when I bought it. |

Thanks for replies. I kinda figured that, but just wanted confirmation. |
