A couple of us attended the Jim Pawelczyk talk in San Diego this morning, sponsored by the American Physiological Society. It's not often that you hear a speaker who knows how pitch a long talk to both 16-year-olds and to science teachers, but he did so, and with a lot of humor. He covered the current Mars exploration plans and the physiological aspects in a very understandable and interesting way.
Definitely recommended if a company is ever looking for a keynoter!

Well, Jim is a professor at Penn State, as well as a State College Area scool board member, so his speaking ability probably owes a lot to both. (And I'd like to thank Jim again for entertaining us for five minutes when we dropped by his office unannounced, patiently answering our questions.)

I dunno - I have known some VERY boring professors and school board members! The guy's simply a good speaker.
