Congratulations to the XCOR EZ-Rocket team for setting a point-to-point distance record on Dec 3rd for a rocket plane. Test Pilot Dick Rutan adds another record to his list of accomplishments. The flight was from Mojave Spaceport starting at 11:41 AM to California City CA and took 10 minutes to fly the route. The rocket burn lasted for about 2 minutes getting the plane to 8500 ft for the flight to California City. This flight was a LOT shorter than Dick's other point-to-point record of the round-the-world Voyager flight. The EZ-Rocket will be retired upon its return to Mojave Spaceport where it will eventaully be on display. | |
