I received a Swanson Rubber Stamped Cachet Cover dated Dec. 22 1964. It was for a Polaris launch. Under the cachet was hand written Project Gemini. Does anyone know what Gemini event it was for? |

Well, I checked the McMahan Catalog, a Gemini paraglider flight log, operational and R&D Titan II flight logs, a Gemini ejection seat test log, and SP-4002, and found nothing Gemini related listed for Dec. 22, 1964.The last paraglider flight was Dec. 19, but out at Edwards. For Dec. 22, McMahan lists the Polaris flight, an Atlas launch from Vandenberg, and an X-15 flight at Edwards. Unless another cS'er has some other data, I'd tend to say that someone along the line tried to turn a relatively common Polaris cover into something more... in my opinion. |

Maybe some stamp dealer saw it was postmarked Cape Canaveral(?) and penciled in that notation to place the cover into a certain NASA era? If it is written in pencil... would carefully erase it. | |
