I purchased two covers that I would appreciate information on:
Project Shotput 4: April 2 1960
Al Shepard slogan cancel at Virginia Beach Va. Aug 30, 1961. Cover was addressed to Jack Fitzpatrick.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Shotput was a test program for inflating balloons in space, that tied directly to the Echo satellites. Here is some general info and some prose from NASA on Shotput.
For the Shepard slogan cancel, I believe that date was the first day of use of that particular slogan cancel. If your Fitzpatrick-addressed cover has a poor impression of a rubber-stamped cachet on it, it is likely one of the early Spacecraft Cachet attempts that ended up not being sold by SCC (page 26 of Vukotich).
