I have just finished a Saturn 1B model. What do you tend to do with the empty boxes, just throw them away? I thought it might be a good idea to just save the box artwork and frame/display it at sometime.Would this be sad? |

Not sad! (Unless I'm sad too) I save all the empty boxes. I even save the "trees" for possible use as greebles on other kits. |

Save save save. Anyone that doesn't want to save a box can send them to us. As strange as it may sound to some, we will have a display in our museum that consists of nothing but empty boxes. Whether it's from a model, a puzzle or toy or whatever. We have probably close to a hundred so far. From the '60's up to current day.------------------ Southern Colorado Space Museum |

A lot of it will depend on the model itself and whether or not I have extras. If I have a duplicate kit in my stash, I tend to pitch the box. If it is the only one, I usually find some way to keep it around. So Saturn, by boxes you mean space memorabilia boxes right? Sounds like a very cool idea actually. Are you going to try and organize these a certain way, or will it be a collection of just boxes of space related memorabilia? |
