While everyone else, it seems, was at Spacefest this weekend, I was in my radon-laden basement, working on a modeling project. I thought you might be interested in one small piece (no pun intended) of a somewhat larger effort. Thumbnail provides a size reference.

Make sure you do not point it at the Sun.

Film cameras such as Hasselblad can take photos of the sun without problems. It was the TV camera on Apollo 12 that had its vidicon tube damaged by being pointed at the sun. This was a well known limitation of tube-based cameras that only disappeared when we went to solid state imaging sensors.
