I'd really like to find high quality die-cast display models of a Mercury capsule, a Gemini capsule, and an Apollo capsule (with Lander if possible). To have them all in the same scale would be best of all. The accompanying rockets would, I suppose, be nice, but its hard to imagine the scale being the same because of the need to keep the Saturn to a reasonable size (and even then the capsules would become tiny)! I've searched everywhere, including the Smithsonian in Washington and at Mission Control in Houston... Any suggestions? |

There was just recently a "100th Anniversary of Flight" blisterpack by I believe Ertl that included Apollo Command and Service modules and Lunar module (along with Shuttle, X-15, Wright flyer). You may be able to still find them at Toys-R-Us. The only Mercury I've ever seen was included in the Hot Wheels John Glenn set. I've never seen a die-cast Gemini. |

When I was in Houston I went to the Center certain that I'd find what I was looking for, but even they didn't have them! There were some Apollo models (expensive, but very nice), but no Mercury or Gemini. I think I'll change my interests to NASCAR - there are lots of high quality die-cast models of cars! | |
