SpaceCadet1983 | WOW! Look what I found: a Boeing Experimental Systems Group X-37B OTV coin made from flown X-37B metal. Made my day!
|
Jonnyed | That's really cool. What's your guess on the date (year) of coin minting? |
tnperri | I believe it's 2017. |
SpaceCadet1983 | At least back to November 2017 from what I've heard. If I am able to narrow down a time frame I'll post it. (As an aside, the coin is 1.75 inches in diameter.) |
328KF | I saw this at Spacefest. When I asked the price, the rep seemed to look around and take a wild guess at a price... $200. No thanks. |
SpaceCadet1983 | "Beauty [or the value one places on an object] is in the eye of the beholder." |
SpaceCadet1983 | A friend is sending me this Boeing USSF-7 X-37B OTV-6 medallion with flown embedded metal. The embedded metal appears to be in the big star at the bottom. No further info at this time.
|
denali414 | Nice coin! Have to add to my list of "wanted coins," really like that one, great find. |
SpaceCadet1983 | I just picked up this Boeing Experimental Systems Group X-37B OTV-6 flown metal medallion on eBay:
|
tnperri | Darn I missed that one... Anyone have one or two for sale? |
SpaceCadet1983 | Here's a new addition to my X-37B flown metal medallion collection. This medallion contains the words "Doing Miracles With Other People's Money" rather than the earlier "Doing God's Work With Other People's Money." The change in wording took place in 2012.
|
GT76 | Does the wording indicate the coin itself was flown, as opposed to containing flown metal? |
SpaceCadet1983 | It appears the entire medallion was flown. Trying to get more info from the DAF/RCO but they are a difficult group to get a hold of. |
