machbusterman | I've just watched the above show on UK TV channel "channel 5". All the crap that the conspiracy theorists came up with as their "proof" that the moon landings were faked was easily and irrefutably contradicted. The show's producers had experts take photographs with the same kind of camera's and film that were used on the Apollo missions in the same kind of light conditions (filmed out in the desert) and had the same results: shadows were NOT parallel, stars could NOT be seen. They even showed the radio telemetary from Jodrell Bank radio telescope from July 20, 1969 which had measured the distance to the "Eagle" and traced its decent to the moon. A laser was also "bounced" off the base of the metalic base of the Apollo 11 LEM... it wouldn't have done so if it were just lunar rock. This was by far the best documentary I've seen on the subject and is the first where the conspiracy theorists have been made to look exactly what they are.... stupid! The producers didn't even use the best piece of film to disprove the conspiracy - Dave Scott dropping the hammer and feather.... IF there are any conspiracy theorists reading this.... shut the hell up and leave us all alone. We're fed up of having to fend off all your crap about the Apollo program. 12 brave men walked on the moon. Thats all there is to say on the matter! Regards, Derek Horne

FFrench | Sounds like a great show. Should be compulsory viewing in schools over here... FF |
Ashy | I watched the programme too. Its about time that the 'debunking of the debunkers' hit prime time. Well said Derek!! Si |
Rob Joyner | How can we in the U.S. get a copy? |
dtemple | I suggest no one believe that the moonhoax clan will go away. Many of these people (if not all of them) don't really care one way or the other. It's just a way to draw attention to themselves. In those cases where the moonhoaxers really believe the landings were faked, I suspect they prefer to believe in faked moon landings and won't be confused by the facts. |
Matt T | Moon hoax theorists will never go away. It is one of the ultimate manifestations of the dictum that if you don't see it with your own eyes then it isn't true. I guarantee you that you could take Kaysing or Sibrel, fly them out to the moon for three days, land at the Sea of Tranquility, kick around in Neil and Buzz's footprints and they would still tell you that it never happened. They might concede that they were on the moon but no way did the Apollo crews get there, and anything you showed them there would just be a set-up. The Flat Earth society is still with us after centuries, so really, don't wait for the theorists to go away. Just enjoy the truth. Cheers, Matt www.spaceracemuseum.com |
gliderpilotuk | I agree - superb programme, despite Neil Morrissey hosting it. The program preceding it was equally interesting, covering the history of the ejection seat since its development by Martin Baker of the UK. Some great footage of Col John Stapp, rightly credited as father of g-force research. Also interesting interview (and footage) with Vladimir Titov on the use of the crew escape system from his Soyuz flight. (For aviation enthusiasts Martin Baker are the operator of the world's oldest jet aircraft = a 1940's Gloster Meteor, still used for airborne ejection tests.) Paul |

I'm not sure which company produced the show but will try to check that out for you. I forgot to add that of the conspiracy theorists interviewed one of them built his own "vaccum" to show how the astro's gloves wouldn't be able to cope with the intricate procedures... he was some kind of "amateur" rocket scientist that clearly had such top class credentials that he should be working for NASA at the JPL right now... NOT <ROFL> The same guy also showed how to create a crater with a bosch leaf-blower ;-) I'm sure he's still twittering away to himself right now. |
Steve Procter | I agree, a very interesting programme. Do not for one minute however think that any 'proof' that the landings took place will ever sway the opinions of these idiots. Even our cats were unimpressed! (even with Kaysings cats). I actually believe he has a fake cat sanctuary! The cats look too well groomed and fed to be strays that have been taken in. No cathairs, furballs or mewling. He also has a special department there to create mock 'Whiskas' cat food. Steve |
ASCAN1984 | Yes it was very funny. I needed a good laugh But seriously I completely agree that no proof what so every will ever make the conspiricy theorists chan.ge their mind. Oh well. Gareth |
webbrass | This month's edition of Astronomy magazine also has an excellent article explaining how the moon landings couldn't have been faked. |
Steve Procter | Maybe we all need to be a little more aggressive in our 'campaign' against these people. I think we need to come at this from a slightly different angle - that it is they who are actually the hoaxers by trying to get people to believe something that simply isn;t true. I found Rene whatever is surname is final comments particurlarly obnoxious in stating that we never went, couldn't go now and will never ever go to the moon. He also mocked the thought of a Mars mission. What kind of 'scientist' can make such a sweeping statement effectively saying mankind has no means to develop and go forward. What a moron (many other words come to mind but this is a family show....!) Steve |
andrewcarson | I have to agree an excellent program...destroyed all the "hoax theories". I was impressed with Jim Oberg, and Jay Windler. I noted the difference in the surroundings where Kaysing, and Aldrin where interviewed...does Kaysing really live in a rubbish bin full of cats ??? Sales of the videos must be drying up :-)Kaysing otherwise known as "Kook" didnt seem very impressive at all in this program. The idea of defeating each theory in the desert with the lighting was a good way of tackling the issues in question. Do Rene, and Kaysing know the address of Jodrell Bank??? probably wouldnt want to speak to them perhaps. It was brilliant to see the graph showing the descent of the Eagle to the Sea of Tranquility., and the graph values changing as Armstrong took control of the LEM. Has this programme been shown before anyone ??? Regards, Andrew |
Fra Mauro | I have to deal with that dumb documentary in my space class. It is entertaining, just like that Elvis is alive documentary |

The showing of that programme was in fact its "premiere". Sadly my vcr isn't working and I couldn't tape it. I've tried searching the C5 web site but to no avail. Lets hope it gets aired again soon.

FFrench | "I've tried searching the C5 web site but to no avail." Maybe it never really happened... |

<G> Now that IS a thought thats gonna fester ;-) |
paul prendergast | In relation to kaysing what a smell those cats have to put up with, they say that they can smell a rat [This message has been edited by paul prendergast (edited June 04, 2004).] |
MN | If anyone should have direct contact with Mr Mattingly I would dearly love to know his thoughts on whether he really didn't have german measles, or did he FAKE not having the illness ??? |
Robert Pearlman | TK Mattingly -- to this day -- has never had the measles. He was healthy and working in Mission Control throughout the A13 mission. |
