T O P I C R E V I E WPhilipAs far as I know there're at least 2 collectSpace forum readers who have a great collection of Spaceflight related books ( Richard JACKSON who sold his huge collection during an auction in 2004 ... and Francis FRENCH ) ...Other cS forum members with a great book collection ( NASA SP, special edition, signed books, ... ) ? http://mars-literature.skynetblogs.be/ John K. RochesterOver 180 books on Manned Space alone.......40 of them signed. ( I know there's people with a lot more out there..)nasamad I have never counted my books, but I think there's quite a few (but not 180, lol) a quite recent list is on my site http://adboo.com/auto/books.htm I also have 8 large boxes of space magazines (Spaceflight, Countdown, JSC Roundup, Rockwell News, WSN, Spaceworld, Quest) that I plan to scan if I ever get the chance ! AdameurospaceI probably also have over 100 space books, many of them signed, but I don't call this "a collection", it is merely my library. In other words: a working tool.Perhaps I am going to call it a collection when I'll be starting to sell it one day ... ;-)------------------Jürgen P EsdersBerlin, Germanyhttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/AstroaddiesPhilipThanks for the replies ( also those off line )... Adam (in the UK) may I remark that if the photo above Your Booklist shows Your books, I would recommend to store these HORIZONTALLY because laying books flat is better for the spine...Post Scriptum: I've listed my books in a database ( It's a large 3 figures number but I'm afraid my wife might read this ;-) )teachspaceHi, I have about 400 books about space exploration / the space program. Only a few are signed.JoeGilbertBook collecting is my primary interest. I have numerous books signed by famous aviators, generals, astronauts, etc. Some of the key books are multi-signed. These books are the gems of my collection.nasamad Hi Philip, It's ok, the image on my site is just made up of scans of the spines. All my books are now stored flat in stackable cases. (Makes it a night mare to sort one out to read though !) Adamstar61I have about 1500 books, but that covers Spaceflight,Astronomy,Physics and aviation. But think of this. In the last 16 years , we have moved 22 times! That is a heck of lot book moving. My advice?...STAY PUT. Phil G dss65No way I can compete with any of you guys, but I agree that the books are the right thing to collect. In my opinion, the words are more important than the autographs. (Although I LOVE the autographs.)------------------Don
