T O P I C R E V I E WFra MauroI just got word from my vice-principal that the seniors in my high school have chosen my space class as one of their electives. All is right with the world tonight!Andy McCulleyCongratulations! That's great.Fra MauroWhen students are told about our space program, there is such an enthusiasm.....LCDR Scott SchneeweisKudo's also to the school for even offering Space history as an elective...------------------Scott Schneeweishttp://www.SPACEAHOLIC.com/Lou ChinalCONGRATULATIONS!If you need any photos from the M-G-A era, let me know.xlsteveI'd be interested in knowing what the syllabus will be, and what you're thinking of using for a books (if any).Fra MauroI am lucky to have a school that allows this elective. A colleague suggested it to me a few years ago when I was saying how boring the senior electives were, noting how my love of space exploration might translate into a good course. The syllabus is basically the history of NASA from the '50s to the present. I use plenty of DVDs in class and the books vary depending upon the taste of the students. I have used The Last Man on the Moon, Spacewalking and A Man on the Moon.xlsteveYou are indeed fortunate. Enjoy teaching the class. I would have recommended A Man on the Moon as well.
