Unfortunately today's (May 2) launch of the Aurora Flight did not succeed. Liftoff was delayed until approximately 10:45 a.m. and approximately 3 seconds after ignition the SpaceLoft XL rocket suffered an anomaly and was destroyed in flight. UP Aerospace personnel are safing the area around the site as there is undetonated ordnance to be dealt with. UP and Spaceport America will conduct a failure review before scheduling another mission — we do not currently know when the review will be complete. All participants aboard Aurora will be offered a complimentary reflight — per their contract with us — on our next Earth Rise mission, named Perseverance Flight. We're obviously disappointed but have confidence in the UP/Spaceport America team who have conducted nie previous successful missions for Celestis. As soon as we have additional verified information, we will share it with you.
