[b]Progress MS-27 launches to space station[/b] The 88th Progress cargo spacecraft to head for the International Space Station, Progress MS-27 is now on its way, having launched on Thursday (May 30) at 5:43 a.m. EDT (0943 GMT or 2:43 p.m. local time) from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The resupply ship reached its preliminary orbit and deployed solar arrays and navigational antennas to begin a two-day, 34-orbit journey to the space station. The Progress will dock to the Poisk mini-research module on Saturday (June 1) at 7:47 a.m. EDT (1147 GMT). On board, the Progress is carrying about three tons of food, fuel, and supplies for the Expedition 71 crew.
